HARTLEY BOTANIC’S 2019 RHS CHELSEA FLOWER SHOW STAND TO SHOW HOW GLASSHOUSES CAN CULTIVATE OUR GARDENS’ WELLNESS POTENTIAL – PRESS RELEASE

WELLNESS ‘UNDER GLASS’

– Hartley Botanic’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show tradestand – stand number 33

– Designed by Tina Fraser of Valentine Wyatt Garden Design

– Landscaping by award winning RHS Chelsea stalwarts Stewart Landscape Construction

English Greenhouse and Glasshouse manufacturer Hartley Botanic is to showcase a wellness focused tradestand at RHS Chelsea Flower Show this year – demonstrating how a Glasshouse can greatly extend, and personalise, the ways in which a garden can promote personal wellbeing. The tradestand has been designed by Tina Fraser of Valentine Wyatt Garden Design, landscaped by RHS Chelsea veterans Stewart Landscape Construction and will be beautifully dressed with furniture and accessories from carefully curated suppliers including Graham and Green and Stoake.

Hartley Botanic’s 2019 RHS Chelsea Flower Show stand will feature four of the Lancashire manufacturers custom and handmade Greenhouses and Glasshouses. Each structure will be dressed to showcase a different wellness theme to reflect the multifunctional potential of a Greenhouse or Glasshouse and the many different ways customers are using and customising their own. In addition, the stand will include eco themes and collaborations with interesting suppliers, craftspeople and individuals to further bring the wellness vignettes to life. The inspiration for this year’s stand comes from an increasing appreciation of how spending time in our gardens can help us achieve a good life balance and boost our physical, mental and spiritual wellness – a feeling reflected in Hartley Botanic’s own, loyal customer base.

Tom Barry Managing Director of Hartley Botanic said; “Owning a Hartley Botanic Greenhouse or Glasshouse opens up a whole world of opportunities for gardeners and homeowners. Clearly, they offer incredible growing potential, but they can also greatly enhance our lifestyles and allow us to enjoy our gardens in a much richer way.

It is a widely reported fact that gardening and being outdoors benefits our mental health and individual wellbeing. A Greenhouse supports this by allowing us to stay outside for longer but it also means we can bring broader wellness-related activities, which are traditionally enjoyed inside, into our gardens.”

Tina Fraser, the stand’s designer added; “This is my first experience of designing at RHS Chelsea and, after 15 years of designing gardens in the London and Cambridge area, I’m loving the challenge. I think one of the skills of a good garden designer is to help bring the potential of our outdoor spaces to life and this is an important aim for the Hartley Botanic stand. I want to make sure it really fires-up the imaginations of those who see the stand, demonstrating the horticultural and lifestyle value of these most beautiful of garden structures.”

Hartley Botanic is one of Britain’s oldest and most trusted Greenhouse manufacturers (last year was the company’s 80th anniversary) and has been exhibiting at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show since at least the 1950s. Last year their RHS Chelsea Flower Show stand was awarded the 5 Star award and the Director General Linley award for its ‘provenance and history’ theme. They are the only aluminium Greenhouse manufacturer whose entire product range is endorsed by the Royal Horticultural Society.
